A young couple:

If you are staying in Split as a couple, here are some tips on how to spend a typical day in Split.

Saturday:

Well, first of all, after you're done with your breakfast (fresh bagels and a lot more at Prerada or Tradicija bakery is always a nice start), you can go to the Bačvice beach and have a nice cup of coffee in the caffe-bar called Žbirac. If you feel like it, take a swim or gather with some people there and play the most famous game in Split, called Picigin. You will get some tan and have a lot of fun.

When you started to feel hungry, go to the nice restaurant Fife (located at the end of Riva, where Matejuška is) and have a nice and cheap meal!

In the afternoon, climb the stairs close to Fife, and have a spectacular view of Split from the Vidilica stop. It is a little terrace with binoculars to see Split in a postcard perspective. If you're tired, you can have a fresh juice in the cafe-bar at Vidilica.

After you've seen Split in the postcard view, it's time to see it in a close-up. You can do that by taking a walking tour through the most famous, and also most central part of Split – the Diocletian's palace. There you can see very interesting historical attractions.

Finally, after a fulfilled day, go to the Bajamont tavern, located in the palace and have a spectacular meal, which you will need if you wanted to go out at some local bars, such as Gaga, Irish pub, or disco clubs Imperium, O'Hara, Vanilla, Bacvice ect.

Sunday:

Go to the ferry port and buy a return ticket for the island of Brač and check out a nice place called Supetar. Visit it's streets and fine atmosphere. After that, take a local bus and go to Bol, where you will vitnes the most beautiful beach called Zlatni rat.

If you're a bit older , and you've already had a nice time in your younger days checking out fun caffee-bars and clubs, and you wish to see some valuable places in Split, here are some ideas for a nice week-end.

Saturday:

As well as a younger couple, you too can go to the city center and have a nice breakfast, for instance, at the Bajamonti caffee-bar and restaurant located at Prokurative (at the end of Riva). After that, you can visit the beautiful Diocletian's palace and discover it's historical value, as well as the way of living in it in the history and today. For a nice dinner, we would like to reccommend a great place called Bajamont restaurant, located in the little street next to the main square of the city called Pjaca (Piazza). Close by, you will find a Gallery of fine arts and a statue of Mr. Grgur Ninski. You can rub it's toe and make a wish.

After all, you can always go to any beach you prefer (Bacvice – sand or any other – pebbles). In the evening, it is nice to have a  drink at the caffee-bar called Lvxor, located at the square of Peristil (next to the beautiful cathedral of st. Dujam) where a live performance of any nice music will be provided by the musicians of different styles. Piano or just a microphone with a guitar will please your ears in this nice location.

Sunday:

Go to the ferry port and buy a return ticket for the island of Hvar and have a nice day in Hvar (Hvar), or buy a ticket for a place called Stari grad (Hvar). Both places on this island are nice for their historical value, as well as for just enjoying the nature and the climate.

Families with children:

If you're travelling through Croatia and you've decided to visit Split with your kids, we can help you with some ideas of a nice week-end, which will include activities for all of you.

Saturday:

On a nice summer mornig, there are so many things you can do, since your children will be on their feet really early. After you've had your breakfast at some of our already recommended places, take your kids to a really fun park called Zvončac. It is a big park, equiped with different types of gadgets for children (teeter, swings and a lot more). Next to the park, you have a beautiful place called Sustipan, with a stunning view, similar to one from Vidilica at Marjan hill. On the location of Zvončac, you have a restaurant, a beach bar-caffe and a swimming pool where you can let your kids play, or the beach Jadran, on the same location if you prefer the ocean water. Next to the beach Jadran, all of the other beaches in Split are located on that side of the coast (Ježinac, Kaštelet, Obojena Svjetlost, Kašuni and so on, until the beach Bene, where you also have a big park with gadgets for kids to play, and a restaurant plus tennis. To all of these beaches you can go by car or by bus number 12 from the first bus station at the top of Riva, where the church sv. Frane is).

In the afternoon, after you've had lunch at Bajamont, taverns in Šperun or anywhere in the center you can go on any of those places we've reccomended or at the Bačvice beach where kids can play in the sand. In the evening you can go to Riva, since there are different performances every night.

Sunday:

Go to a field trip to Krka waterfalls where you can see the beautiful nature of Dalamtia in it's continent. The waterfalls are stunning, the water of the river Krka is really nice for swimming and the feeling is great! You can sign up for a trip a day earlier.

Addition:

If you liked any of these options, you can aways try both of them, or you can mix and combine the places you'd like to see from both suggestions.

We wish you a lovely time in Split, and Croatia in general.
