Parking In Split

In the center of Split , especially during the high season it may be difficult to find a parking place. Sometimes You would be frustrated to find a parking spot so let us give some tips and tricks on how to park safely…

OK, let’s clear the situation from the beginning…and tell You that Split is considered as a very safe city which means that there are minimum chances that Your car will be stolen.

Around the historical part of Split You can usually find a free parking spot and You just walk back to the town.

A lot of streets around center are part of the “street parking”. You can leave Your car but during work time (07-19 h, Saturdays 7-14 h) ; You will see the sign and the automatic machine (put the money in, and You will get the confirmation). Outside the work time, the parking is free.

Another option would be to continue to the ferry port and park before the terminal behind the bus/train station (1 EUR). Parking spot next to Riva in Split is 2 EUR

There is another parking lot at the end of Domovinskog Rata or at the beginning of the Vukovarska side. It's a long parking lot with parking right at the south end which is at the pedestrian entrance to the green market and just 100m to the Palace. Price is 1 Eur per hour.

Free parking is not impossible which means that there are areas where You can leave Your car on a free public parking place or somewhere around the center in some of the streets.

If You are looking for a long term parking, there are free parkings 10 minutes away from the center. One of them is at Zvoncac , just by Aci Marina , but to get there You need to go through the tunnel of Marjan, take a left turn at the crossing, and on the right side You'll see a big parking lot.

Just ahead, if You drive towards Riva , on the right and left side, by the road, You can find free parking spots.

Another solution is to leave Your car in a public garage Lavcevic (Bihacka 2) or find a cheaper parking outside the center (exp. Parking place in Bijankinijeva street) where You can pay day fee at a lower rate.

When in Split, You shoud have in mind its chaotic traffic in the center, especially in the high season, so we recommend that You

find a parking place a little outside the palace and take a walk to the center.
